 Step4: Now click two times on the event that has occurred during the off time and all the details will be displayed.

Step5: Also, the time period for which the computer was used can also be noted down.

Add folder to send to menu:Specify folder location in context menu

This will save you lot of time you spend organizing files in windows 7 if you have your main folders like Movies, Photos, MP3 etc easily accessible to send files you’ve just downloaded to be copied to.

Step 1 : Go to this folder

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

Note: AppData is a hidden folder (Use Organize > Folder and search options and then View (tab) > check "Show hidden files, folder, drives") to unhide hidden folders

Step 2 : Now add shortcuts of the folders you want to see the SendTo menu in this folder. 

Step 3 : Now those folders will show up in your SendTo menu in the right click context.

How to shutdown your computer at a specific time

 

Here is a trick to shutdown your computer  at a specific time. You might be thinking what great about it, well you can shutdown your computer without the use of any software. Just shutdown your computer at specific time from RUN Command. For example if you wish to shutdown at 09:45 am.Type this in

Start=>Run

Type Code  :   at 11:35 shutdown -s

To cancel or Abort the shutdown:

Type Code  :    shutdown -a

Type  Code  :  “shutdown –s –m\\computername –t60”. This command will shutdown the computer on network if you have administrative access.  Here computername needs to be replaced by the exact computer name of the computer on the network to work.

Alternative method to create a shutdown timer or simply computer shutdown shortcut

Step 1: Right click on your desktop and choose “New=>shortcuts”.

Step 2: In the box that says “Type the location of the shortcut”,
type in “shutdown -s -t 3600” without the quotation marks and click next.

Note: 3600 are the amount of seconds before your computer shuts down. So , this means 3600 seconds = 60 mints (1 hour). You can change the value in the above code. You can even create multiple shutdown shortcuts. For example a computer shutdown shortcut for 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 5 hours etc.,

Step 3: Make up a name for the shortcut and you’re done.

Optional Step 4 : You can change the icon by right clicking=>properities=>change icon=>browse

To abort or cancel the shutdown:
To make an abort key to stop the shutdown timer just create another shortcut and make
the “location of the shortcut” to ” shutdown -a” without the quotes.

How to remove Virus from USB Drives

one of the ways by which a virus can infect your PC is through USB/Pen drives. Common viruses such as Ravmon,New Folder.exe etc are spreading through USB drives. Most anti virus programs are unable to detect them and even if they do, in most cases they are unable to delete the file, only quarantine it. Here are the things which you can do if you want to remove such viruses from your USB Drive

Whenever you plug a USB drive in your system, a window will appears

Don't click on Ok , just choose Cancel. Open the Command Prompt by typing cmd in the run box.

In the command prompt type the drive letter: and press enter .

Now type dir /w/a  and press enter.

This will display a list of the files in the pen drive. Check whether the following files are there or not

Autorun.inf

Ravmon.exe

New Folder.exe

svchost.exe

Heap41a

or any other exe file which may be suspicious.

If any of the above files are there, then probably the USB drive is infected.

 In command prompt type attrib -r -a -s -h *.* and press enter. This will remove the Read Only, Archive, System and hidden file attribute from all the files. Now just delete the files using the command del filename. example del Ravmon.exe.

 Delete all the files that are suspicious. To be on a safer side, just scan the USB drive with an anti virus program to check whether it is free of virus or not.

Now remove the drive and plug it again. In most of the cases, the real culprit turns out to be the Autorun.inf file which mostly gets executed when someone clicks Ok in the dialog window which appears above. Thus the infections can spread

Disable the Autoplay feature of USB drives. If you disable the Autoplay feature of USB drives, then there are lesser chances of the virus spreading.

A tool which can perform such a function is Tweak UI. Download it from here install it.

Run the program. Now you can disable the Autoplay feature of the removable drives as shown above. By following the above steps, you can keep your USB drives clean.

Multiple login in yahoo Without Using any Software

You can login with multiple id's on the same yahoo messenger without any download or patch .
Follow these steps :

1.   Go to Start ----> Run . Type regedit, then enter .

2.  Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER --------> Software ---> yahoo  --->pager---->Test

3.  On the right page , right-click and choose new Dword value .

4.  Rename it as Plural.

5.  Double click and assign a decimal value of 1.

Restrict,Block facebook access at work,school pcs

Step 1 : Log into your Windows Account with Administrator privileges.

Step 2 : Access the Hosts File at C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts

Step 3 : Add the following lines below the lines containing 127.0.0.1 localhosts as shown…

127.0.0.1 facebook.com
127.0.0.1 www.facebook.com

Step 4 : Save the File. You can add other websites like twitter, orkut etc. in the same way.

This should work fine. Facebook will be blocked in this case as long as the host file has the changes done above. 

The best thing about this way of blocking facebook and other sites is that if you change the host file of the main server PC in the LAN network then the whole network won’t be able to access the blocked website.
